Not a quiet hotel. A calm one.
There is a difference. Halcyon is full of colour, sound and people — but the rooms are sealed tight, the beds are enormous, and nothing on the nightstand blinks.
We spent the budget on the mattress, the blackout, and the coffee. Everything else is paint and personality.
Opened in 2022 in a former telephone exchange. The bones are 1930s — terrazzo floors, deep window reveals, a lobby with 6-metre ceilings — wrapped around a hotel that is very much of now. Art rotates. The playlist is a real person’s job.
